The 3Com® NBX® 100 supports up to 200 devices, whilst the 3Com® NBX® superstack 3 supports up to 1500

Often the barrier to upgrading to IP comms is the cost of replacing telephones & wiring.

CITELlink offers the ability to keep existing meridian compact 'phones & wiring in service on the NBX

CITEL Technologies, in collaboration with 3Com Corporation, has delivered the first IP Handset Gateway that allows customers to enjoy the advanced features and functionality of 3Com’s IP-based business telephony solutions, while extending the life and value of their existing Nortel business telephones.

The CITELlink IP Handset Gateway simplifies and eases their migration to IP telephony.

CITELlink powers the legacy PBX telephones and enables them to work seamlessly with the NBX Network system via 3Com's IP telephony protocol.

Telephones using existing telephone wiring & connectors.

The Nortel telephones remain line powered from the gateway.

The NBX’s Advanced Networking Options allow Norstar telephones to now perform Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) applications, via the CITELlink IP Handset Gateway.

CITELlink can be used within separate (branch) locations to enable these legacy PBX telephones to take advantage of the powerful VoIP applications from the IP PBX. Customers can also mix new IP telephones with existing legacy PBX telephones, as their IP telephony communications needs grow.

Norstar Telephones supported by the CITELlink IP Handset Gateway

Customers replace their Norstar PBX Control Unit with a 3Com NBX unit, while keeping the wiring and telephone. The Norstar PBX equipment being displaced are: Norstar Modular 8X24, Norstar Modular ICS, and Norstar Compact ICS. User functionality, including LCD buttons and features are retained. Changes are made via the NBX browser based administration.
